History
Eritrea at the Worlds
Eritrea's relationship with the rainbow jersey is still young — and already historic. Biniam Girmay's silver medal in the 2021 U23 road race made him the first Black African rider on a Worlds podium, and the 2025 Championships in Kigali brought the event to African soil for the first time, with Eritrean fans among the loudest on the course. Montréal is the next chapter.
